- 28 ounces beef tamales wrappers removed
- 10 ounces canned chili with or without beans
- 14 ounces canned hot chili beans e.g., Ranch Style Beans
- 10 ounces canned Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies
- 1 pound Velveeta cheese cut into chunks
- 1 cup minced red onion
- 2 tomatoes chopped
- 1 jalapeño or other hot chili pepper chopped
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Combine all the ingredients in a slow cooker and mix well.
Heat until the cheese is melted, stirring occasionally.
Serve with tortilla chips.
To control the spice level, add a small amount of jalapeño and Tabasco sauce before heating and then add more to taste.
This makes a LOT of dip. Make it when you are expecting a crowd!
