Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup finely chopped white onion
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Barbecue Sauce

  • 1 18-ounce bottle barbecue sauce (I prefer Kraft Original or Kraft Hickory)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs in a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Form the mixture into meatballs weighing about 1 ½ ounces each.
  • Place the meatballs on a wire rack resting on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for approximately 30 minutes.
  • While the meatballs are baking, combine all the ingredients for the barbecue sauce in a pot over low heat.
  • When meatballs have finished baking, add them to the sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and serve.

Notes

Alternatively, you can make the sauce in a slow cooker and then add the meatballs to the slow cooker.
